Beyond the Cloud

Weekend experiments exploring where AI meets art, music, literature, and design. Each one started as a question I couldn't shake — here's how they turned out.

Living Macondo interactive demo
Literature

Living Macondo

An interactive companion to Gabriel García Márquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. Explore the tangled Buendía family tree, talk to characters through an LLM, and branch into alternate histories — what would have happened if Aureliano hadn't gone to war, if Remedios hadn't ascended? Somewhere between a wiki, a chat app, and a ghost story.

StyleDNA interactive demo
Creative tool

StyleDNA

A designer's translator for AI. StyleDNA takes 1–7 reference images and extracts the things I could never put into words — a palette, typography, a written narrative of the style's character, and an AI prompt I can paste into Claude, Midjourney, or Cursor. There's also a Create tab for generating new work in-app. Built because "warmer," "more editorial," and "less corporate" were never enough, and the images always knew more than I did.

Sonic Universe interactive demo
Music

Sonic Universe

A map of how music genres mutated across a century — Delta Blues drifting into Rock, Funk splintering into Hip-Hop and Electronic. Nodes pulse with genre-defining tracks; edges trace direct influence, with the dates and artists that carried the DNA forward. Built to answer a question I had while listening: why does this sound like that?

ASCII Forge interactive demo
Creative tool

ASCII Forge

An image-to-ASCII converter that works on photos, GIFs, and videos alike. Drop a file and the slider wipes between the original and its letter-art version; animated sources keep playing, just rewritten in characters. Pick a preset — typewriter, Matrix, Unicode blocks — or tune your own character set until the textures feel right. Made for anyone curious how a picture changes when its pixels become glyphs — ASCII as an expressive medium, not a novelty.

Chroma Heritage interactive demo
Art

Chroma Heritage

Color palettes mined from museum masterpieces — Ming Dynasty celadons, Ukiyo-e prints, Monet's water lilies — by asking AI to study each piece and extract its dominant harmonies. Each palette comes with provenance and exports as design tokens. A small protest against the generic, trend-chasing palette.
